1st Skene Westhill Aberdeenshire (see below for meeting times)
A little about us
Our Boys’ Brigade Company, 1st Skene was formed in 1977 and since then has gone from strength to strength and is now one of the most active and successful companies in the North of Scotland with a current role of over 70 boys.
The Boys’ Brigade caters for a wide variety of age-ranges irrespective of background, religion, educational or physical ability and in 1st Skene Company we participate in a wide range of activities designed to meet the boys’ needs and to challenge and develop their capabilities.
We aim to provide the boys with indoor and outdoor activities they would not normally have the opportunity to participate in. Many of these involve physical activity and learning new skills such as first aid. map reading and navigation, camping, mountain biking, playing the chanter, model making as well as more traditional team activities such as football, basketball and volleyball.
Many of our activities are designed to meet the requirements of the Boys’ Brigade Badge Schemes, leaded to achieving the organisations highest award, The Queens Badge. Since this was first awarded to boys in 1st Skene Company in 1986, to date 58 boys have successfully completed the Queens Badge programme and a number have gone on to gain the Duke of Edinburgh’s Gold Award

The Boys Brigade is the oldest Christian uniformed organisation in the world.
Each week The Boys' Brigade works with thousands of young people, many of whom have no other connection with the Church. Today in the UK & Republic or Ireland we are working with over 60,000 children & young people in over 1500 companies.
The Boys' Brigade provides a balanced programme of fun activities for children and young people from 5 to 18 years old. These resources have been developed to help volunteer youth leaders work in a relevant and creative way. We hope through these programmes they will be able to make a positive contribution to a young person's life and be able to share their faith.
